SAN FRANCISCO, July 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Weebly, the global website and eCommerce service empowering more than 45 million entrepreneurs worldwide, announced today it will integrate Apple Pay, which is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay that's fast and convenient, into the mobile checkout flow of Weebly online stores.
With more than 40 percent of all Weebly online store transactions happening on mobile or tablet, Apple customers will now experience an effortless mobile checkout flow across eligible Weebly eCommerce sites. The integration will support digital small business owners with the most up to date transactional technology. Apple Pay is a faster and safer checkout process that eliminates checkout forms and the need to transmit credit card information, and provides a mobile optimized user experience that makes paying online easier than ever.
Research shows that one in four people abandon their carts because of a "too long and complicated checkout process" and checkout conversions are 66 percent lower on mobile than on desktop. With Apple Pay, a mobile shopper can seamlessly purchase a product from a Weebly store in less than five seconds.
"The process of paying and checking out shouldn't have to be a difficult one," says David Rusenko, Founder and CEO of Weebly. "Apple Pay makes checking out online a frictionless experience and this integration is another way we are creating more opportunities for our entrepreneurs, empowering their online stores with the latest technology to help them land more happy customers and, of course, more sales."
Qualified Weebly merchants and shoppers will begin to experience the Apple Pay integration in phases beginning today, and fully within the next few weeks. To be eligible, merchants need to be connected to the Stripe payment gateway and customers must have Apple Pay set up on their device.
Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by credit and debit cards. When paying for goods and services on the go in apps or Safari, Apple Pay works with iPhone 6 and later, iPhone SE, iPad Pro, iPad (5th Generation), iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 and later. You can also use Apple Pay in Safari on any Mac introduced in or after 2012 running macOS Sierra and confirm the payment with iPhone 6 or later or Apple Watch, or with Touch ID on the new MacBook Pro.
