Wellbrooke of Westfield Honored as Top Skilled Nursing Center in Nation; Community Invited to Public Open House
INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior Housing News has selected Wellbrooke of Westfield (IN) as winner of the SHN Design and Architecture Award for the country's best "New Skilled Nursing" center. Developed by Indiana-based Mainstreet Property Group, Wellbrooke of Westfield competed against more than 70 communities across the nation. This was Senior Housing News' first-ever competition recognizing innovation and cutting edge design in senior living construction and renovation.
"We are thrilled to be recognized by Senior Housing News. Mainstreet is committed to transforming the way health care is delivered to aging Americans, with an emphasis on service, independence, dignity and respect. This award only serves to reinforce our vision," said Zeke Turner, CEO of Mainstreet. "The innovation and design at Wellbrooke of Westfield cater to the specific lifestyle and desires of today's Baby Boomer -- desires which are more demanding and markedly different from previous generations."
Wellbrooke of Westfield is one of Mainstreet Property Group's new Health Care Resorts®, where services and health care are built around the residents' interests, needs and schedule, making it a radical departure from the industry's more traditional care centers. The hotel-like environment is comfortable and welcoming, offering concierge-style services and amenities and a plethora of social activities. Onsite therapists and a state-of-the-art rehabilitation center provide residents access to the best equipment and training to aid their recovery. There is a focused effort on getting residents well and getting them home. Wellbrooke of Westfield features 70 private and companion suites for physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation and long-term care, as well as 30 service-rich apartments for full-time assisted living. Ninety percent of the rooms are single-bed rooms with private bathrooms.
Wellbrooke of Westfield was built by Fishers-based Meyer Najem, and Indianapolis-based American Structurepoint was the architect for the high-end, 100-bed facility. The Center is managed by Life Care Services™, an LCS Company, a leading provider of senior housing and care with communities serving over 28,000 residents in 27 states. Life Care Services provides the day-to-day management for Wellbrooke of Westfield.
"Wellbrooke of Westfield is an extraordinary example of the new approach to skilled nursing care," said Phil Heer, General Manager of Wellbrooke of Westfield. "We continue to get incredibly positive reactions to the inventive and fresh design of the Center from residents, their families and our visitors."
