The time is more than ripe for a future-oriented policy in Germany. The necessary steps to prepare for the future are obvious. The undersigned thus call on the new German Government to move from just paying lip-service to required reforms to actions.

Over the next four years, the new Federal Government must push ahead decisively with the following projects for our economy and the environment:

Germany is lagging behind in terms of its implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement. This must be implemented for both economic and moral reasons. Climate protection is crucial for our children, it reduces causes for poverty and thus reasons for people to flee their homes as refugees.
Good business and environmental protection now go hand in hand. Resource efficiency, renewable energy, electric mobility and sustainable agriculture are all competitive today - if there would only be a level playing field and fair competition instead of subsidies for fossil fuels.
Emissions have their price and this must be paid for by those that cause them. This includes health costs due to allergies, asthma, cancer and global climate costs. A CO2 tax must be levied and other taxes lowered at the same time.
"Energiewende" that is Energy transition, but also Mobility-, Agricultural- and Financial transitions towards sustainable "circular economy" business models offer growth and secure jobs in Germany and globally, healthy food for us and our children and prospects for refugees to bring newly acquired skills and business models back home where it is often sunnier and even more profitable to shift to renewable power.

Under the campaign headers 'parents vote for their children' and 'rock the vote' the undersigned thus called for their fellow citizens to go vote at the Bundestag elections on 24.09.2017 voting for the future, and called on the new Federal Government to take the actions set out above.
