Westgate Resorts Signs Definitive Agreement to Purchase VOS, the exclusive Management and Sales Partner of VI Resorts

Upon Closing of the Acquisition, Westgate's Number of Resort Destinations Expands from 22 Resorts to Over 60 With New International Locations in Mexico and Canada

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Westgate Resorts announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Bellevue, Washington-based Vacation Ownership Sales (VOS), which has the exclusive management and sales and marketing rights for VI Resorts, North America's largest owner-controlled timeshare and vacation club. The acquisition is set to close in 2025.

As part of the acquisition, Westgate Resorts will assume management of VI Resorts' points-based Vacation Club, which has an expansive portfolio of over 40 domestic and international resorts and destinations. These locations include highly sought after locations around the United States such as the picturesque islands of Hawaii, as well as the sandy beaches of Mexico and throughout Canada. Westgate Resorts will continue to add new Owners to the VI Club through its extensive sales and marketing efforts. 

As part of its management agreement, Westgate Resorts has committed to investing over $4 million in marketing, branding and technology improvements to enhance the VI program for its Owners, along with additional benefits.

This collaboration will allow the Owner-led VI Resorts Board to leverage Westgate's robust management expertise to elevate resort operations and unlock exciting new destinations for VI Owners. This purchase builds on the heels of Westgate's partnership with Choice Hotels which was announced earlier this year, as well as its strategic plan to continue to grow its core timeshare business. The integration of VI Resorts into Westgate's portfolio reinforces the company's ambitions to be the preeminent independent company in the timeshare and hospitality industries.  Through this partnership, existing Westgate Owners have the ability to exchange their ownership time for stays at VI Resorts locations and VI Owners have the ability to exchange to Westgate Resorts locations through their Interval International membership.
