WGU Washington Offers the "Smart Choice" to Help Working Adults Go Back-to-School

KENT, Wash., Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Back-to-school season means much more than young people returning to the classroom. Across Washington, an increasing number of working adults recognize the value of education and what it can mean for their careers. To further encourage those men and women to pursue their educational goals, WGU Washington is now offering the Smart Choice Scholarship to new and enrolling students in more than 60 bachelor's and master's degree programs offered by the online, nonprofit university. Scholarship applications are being accepted through Sept. 30, 2017.

Each Smart Choice Scholarship is valued at up to $2,000—$500 per six-month term, renewable for up to four terms. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be officially admitted to WGU Washington, complete the scholarship application, and be interviewed by a university scholarship counselor. Recipients will be selected based on their academic records, financial needs, and readiness for online study at WGU Washington, among other considerations.
