MERRILLVILLE, Ind., March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fifteen-year hospitality industry veteran Ron Caldwell has been promoted to Regional Vice President at White Lodging. Caldwell will oversee Region 8, which includes 14 properties in Indiana, Michigan, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

A three-time White Lodging Services Excalibur Award winner and the 2008 recipient of White Lodging Services High QA Award, Caldwell started his career with the Snyder Corporation working at the company's properties in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. From there he joined Sage Hospitality and gained experience working with the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott brand.
Caldwell's next employer was Winegardner and Hammons. With this company for two years, he was the Front Office Manager at the Chicago Marriott Northwest Hotel and Convention Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. It was during Caldwell's time that the property was named Marriott Hotel of the Year.
Caldwell joined White Lodging in 2005 when he was hired as the General Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott Chicago Schaumburg. Until his recent promotions, he served as the General Manager at the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Schaumburg, which is rated in the top 21 percent of Courtyard properties in the country in terms of guest satisfaction.
