SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- WhiteHat Security, the Web security company, today announced that its Board of Directors has named Craig Hinkley as the new CEO. In his new role, Hinkley plans to maintain a focus on customer success and corporate growth as well as increase brand awareness for WhiteHat Security in the market.
"Web security is critical not only to the businesses and organizations that we work with directly, but extends to all of their employees, customers, clients and users – essentially every person that uses the Internet to do business, to shop online, and to communicate every day, benefits from the work we do here at WhiteHat," said Jeremiah Grossman, founder of WhiteHat Security, who took the role of interim CEO in February 2014. "When looking to hire the new CEO, we needed someone who is passionate about web security and who has the drive to take us to the next level. We believe that Craig's leadership abilities and vision for the company are exactly what WhiteHat needs and we are excited to have him join the team."
Hinkley brings more than 20 years of executive leadership in the technology sector. Prior to joining WhiteHat Security, Hinkley served as the vice president and general manager of the LogLogic business unit for TIBCO Software. In that role, he was responsible for global field sales and operations, client technical services, engineering, research and development, product design and product management. Before TIBCO, he served as the general manager at Hewlett-Packard for the HP Networking Business in the Americas. Earlier in his career, Hinkley held positions at Cisco Systems Inc. and Bank of America.
"Security has emerged as a top priority for most executives in the C-suite, including the board, as more companies depend on websites and mobile applications to conduct business and to compete in the global marketplace," said Hinkley. "WhiteHat has a proven portfolio of application security solutions for customers that need security across the entire software development lifecycle, from code development to mobile and all the way through to live production applications. These capabilities, coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent customer experience, make it easy to see why organizations rely on WhiteHat and why I decided to join such a great company."
In the past 12 months under Grossman's leadership, WhiteHat Security witnessed increased revenue, higher customer retention, and increased innovation surrounding the company's Sentinel product portfolio including the launch of Sentinel Elite, the industry's first product offering to guarantee financial coverage for any breach that may occur due to a vulnerability that WhiteHat should have discovered. Grossman will remain with the company and continue to focus on technology, product innovation, strategy and customer relations. As WhiteHat Security continues to receive industry recognition for its business successes, such as the recent recognition from Forrester Research as a Leader in Application Security, Hinkley will continue to drive efforts to offer innovative solutions to meet clients' security needs.
