Holiday Hypermarket, a leading online holiday retailer that specialises in package and all-inclusive holidays, have pledged their support for the Association of British Travel Agents' (ABTA) recent awareness campaign, which encourages travellers to book their holidays with agencies that display the ABTA logo.
The campaign, which launches in January 2013, will include leaflets, digital and social media promotion and a revamped consumer section on abta.com. Consumer awareness, which has increased since ABTA embarked on a Love Travel university roadshow this year, is essential to promote a better understanding of the benefits of booking with an ABTA Member.
Holiday Hypermarket has been a fully bonded member of ABTA since 2005, ensuring that their customers can book holidays with confidence. The association represents UK travel agents and tour operators responsible for around 90 per cent of package holiday sales and approximately half of independent travel arrangements made in the country.
ABTA's work also benefits consumers by providing a watchdog code of conduct, financial protection schemes, complaints handling and arbitration services and it works to raise health and safety and sustainability service standards.
Calum Macdonald, E-Commerce Manager at Holiday Hypermarket, comments: "Our customers' awareness of ABTA is satisfactorily high and according to ABTA, as many as 70 per cent of consumers consider it either essential or important when making travel arrangements.
"Ahead of 2013's peak booking season, ABTA has encouraged retailers to prominently display their logo as a way for consumers to recognise their standards of health, safety and security - particularly with regards to accommodation - and we're 100 per cent behind that."
