Wildfox Resort 14 'Dreamhouse' Collection Featuring Range Of Barbie™ Licensed Products In Collaboration With Mattel Hits Stores This Month

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wildfox Resort 14 'Dreamhouse' collection, reflective of Barbie looks inspired by the late eighties, hits stores worldwide this month. In collaboration with Mattel, the range offers a limited edition 8 piece capsule of Barbie™ licensed products to include t-shirts, jumpers, sunglasses, and bathing suits.

Creative Director, Kimberley Gordon, says, "As a girl who played with Barbie, the whole collection itself was inspired by my imagination come to life. I thought of what she and her friends would have really worn and saw them as eighties/nineties shabby chic. Barbie was also a woman with so many occupations, so we wanted to show that in the My Resume tee." Gordon adds, "She is all about acting out stories, which is what we do at Wildfox through our models in each campaign. I was thrilled at the opportunity to create a collection with Barbie…visiting the Mattel design center was really exciting."

Eighties-inspired phrases, geometric graphics, allover hamburger prints, and even sunscreen or cotton candy scented fabrics (which last 10-12 washes over a 4-6 month time period), will spark nostalgia in an instant. As part of the Barbie™ capsule, styles in our most popular body styles include the 'I Love Ken' baggy beach jumper and My Resume hippie crew t-shirt and baggy beach jumper featuring the Barbie logo on the front and a list of occupations on the back (Doctor, Lawyer, Teacher, Vet, Ballerina, Rockstar, etc). A Wildfox Kids version of the My Resume baggy beach jumper was added to the capsule by request of retailers after an overwhelmingly positive response to the adult range.

Several body styles introduced in the resort range including an off shoulder Material T, long sleeve Cassidy T, and midi length body con dress in solid black, heather grey, or allover red kisses. A fluffy new teddy bear fleece fabric for a group of sweatshirts, pants, socks and mini skirt that can be mixed and matched into sets. Pricing for these categories ranges from $59-132.

The Foxercise™ work out range is a variety of sports bras, tanks, crop tops, sweatshirts, hoodies, shorts, and pants in spandex, cotton mesh, jersey, and fleece terry fabrics. Color options vary from solid (black, red, white, or navy) to heather grey and pastel – used for a Barbie logo mesh raglan sweater. Prices are between $48-$148.

The White Label sweater group is full of playful intarsia knits: 80s color blocked patterns, flamingos, teddy bear and kitten faces. Cozy, loose angora sweaters come in a high waist cardigan, classic crew, or cropped Billy version. Also in the group are several solid color options for leg warmers, beanies and a letter sweater-style cardigan. Pricing ranges between $68-268.

Both sunglass frames in the Resort range are part of the Barbie capsule. Just 500 pieces of each limited edition style will come numbered with a special Barbie branded pink case and white outer box. The 'Skipper' is a Barbie pink aviator frame with silver flash lens for $169, and the 'Malibu Barbie' is an oversized round frame with rose pink colored acetate and gold metal for $179. Each Wildfox Sun frame is handmade with Italian acetate and metal frames, three barrel French cosmetic hinges, and CR39 optical grade lenses offering UV A and B protection.

As part of the Barbie capsule, resort swim style include a logo 80's one-piece and logo tankini top with bikini bottom. Prices range from $58-$128.

The entire Resort 'Dreamhouse' collection will be available starting 11/10 at Wildfox's first ever flagship store in Los Angeles, as well as at select boutiques and department stores worldwide.
