NOVATO, Calif., Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- William Ury, co-author of Getting to Yes, the world's bestselling book on negotiation, and spiritual teacher Thomas Hübl have announced that they will join together to lead a six-month online course that guides people in developing the inner and outer skills needed for effective conflict resolution. The duo will kick off their course with a free webinar on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, on the topic, "How Humanity Can Heal Itself." Registration for the course will open on the same day.
"As an anthropologist and mediator," said Ury, "I've worked in settings ranging from family feuds and labor strikes to international and civil wars around the world, trying to understand how we human beings deal with our deepest differences and what prevents us from getting to the yes that we all want. In the end, I've come to realize that, as difficult as other people can be, we are our own worst enemies. If we really want to have the outer world that we seek, we need to do the inner work."
Hübl agreed, adding, "I'm very passionate about exploring the basis of the pain and separation that is stored in our world. Are there meaningful tools to open up that box and have a look? How can we integrate and heal some of our personal and collective trauma so that we can create the world that we want to live in?"
In the September 24 webinar, Hübl and Ury will address the fundamental causes of conflict, explore innovative paths toward peace, and share practices for conflict resolution.
