Williams Kherkher Founder John Eddie Williams, Jr. Receives Texas Trial Lawyers Association's Lifetime Achievement Award
HOUSTON, Dec. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The entire team at Williams Kherkher is proud to announce that firm founder and managing partner, John Eddie Williams, Jr., has recently received the Texas Trial Lawyers Association's Lifetime Achievement Award.
Founded in 1949, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA) seeks to empower trial lawyers by making sure that they have the tools to best represent their clients. Through legislative advocacy and political efforts, TTLA's members work hard to protect the 7th Amendment and the right of every citizen to have a trial by jury.
According to the TTLA, this award was given to John Eddie Williams, Jr. "In recognition of his career of meaningful and pioneering representation of injured clients, the numerous offices and positions he has held in local, state and national bar, civil justice, and trial lawyer organizations, and community service that brings credit to trial lawyers and the legal profession."

John Eddie Williams, Jr. graduated cum laude from Baylor University with a business degree and returned to earn his Juris Doctorate from Baylor University School of Law, graduating first in his class.
In 1983, John Eddie opened his practice with another attorney. That firm, now known as Williams Kherkher, has represented over 30,000 clients over the past four decades. In 1995, John Eddie represented the State of Texas in a hard-fought battle against the tobacco industry. This complex case ultimately resulted in a victory for the state and the largest settlement in U.S. history.
Earlier this year, John Eddie was inducted into the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame, which recognizes and honors the remarkable accomplishments of individuals for their commitment to helping others and their exemplary work in courtrooms across the United States.
John Eddie represents plaintiffs in mass tort cases including asbestos exposure, plant explosions, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death.
