WinCo Foods Announces Grand Opening of Fourth Store in Vancouver, Washington

BOISE, Idaho, March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods, LLC announced today the grand opening of its new discount supermarket at 9:00 a.m. this morning in North Vancouver.  The new store, located at 11310 N.E. 119th Street is approximately 94,000 square feet in size and will employ approximately 170 individuals as it opens.

WinCo Foods is an employee owned company primarily known for being the supermarket low price leader in each market where it operates.  WinCo Foods first entered the Vancouver market in December of 1988 and has enjoyed great success and growth in the market.  Store Manager, Mark Groves, is a veteran of over 20 years with WinCo and began his career with the company at its old Vancouver Plaza store.  With unemployment in the market so high, Mark is pleased that he is able to open the store with nearly 100 new employees hired locally.  Competition for jobs was fierce as nearly 4,000 people made application.  Mark and his assistant managers, Shannon Fordham and Nate Linscott, are excited about their team of employee owners and look forward to meeting and serving the local customers as WinCo opens its 71st store in the chain.

As always, the focus of the operation will be on providing the lowest prices in the Vancouver market on the grocery, meat, produce, seafood, deli, bakery and bulk foods items that customers have come to expect from WinCo Foods.  The bulk foods department alone offers over 600 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies and more.
