WinCo Foods Announces Opening of New Store in Garland, Texas

BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods LLC announced today that it will open the employee owned chain's newest store in Garland, Texas at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27th.  The Garland store is located at 1122 W. Centerville Rd. and is the sixth WinCo Foods store to open in Texas.  The store is 85,000 square feet in size and will initially employ approximately 150 individuals, about 140 of whom have been hired locally. Founded as a single warehouse format store in 1967, in Boise, Idaho, the chain has grown steadily and in recent years more dramatically toward this its 102nd store.  We invite the community to help us celebrate WinCo's success as we continue to grow in the greater DFW market.

WinCo Foods is an employee owned discount grocery chain known primarily for being the "Supermarket Low Price Leader" in each market it serves.  Garland Store Manager, Brandon McCain, transfers to the store from Lewisville, Texas, with over 17 years of experience with the company.  Assistant Mangers are Roy Hernandez, Nick Stair and Donald Wells.  Brandon, his management team and the store employees are proud and excited to open the store and are eager to assist new customers with a great combination of customer service and low pricing.  Brandon indicates that there is good community buzz and feels that excitement for the new store is building among potential customers.  Brandon says, "as employee owners, all of us here at WinCo look forward to giving our Garland neighbors an exciting new shopping option that provides great pricing and a terrific customer experience."

The store features WinCo's "Wall of Values" at the entry, which displays a wide variety of high volume products with exceptionally good pricing.  The store's perimeter departments include fresh produce, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery departments.  The unique bulk foods department allows customers to buy only the amounts they want and displays nearly 700 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.
