Wireless Power Consortium Elects LG's Yongcheol Park as Chief Technology Officer

PISCATAWAY, N.J., July 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) today announced it has named Yongcheol Park of LG Electronics as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

In this position, Park will be responsible for creating and maintaining all of the WPC specification roadmaps and ensuring that new technology developments are leveraged by the various working groups. He will also be the chairperson of the joint chairs of the Low Power Work Group, Medium Power Work Group, Kitchen Working Group, Resonance Task Force and Compliance and Compatibility Test Group.

Park received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea.  He has been with LG Electronics since 1994, and prior to his work with the WPC, Park played active roles in the DVD and Blu-ray standards development groups.
