Wolfgang Kneer named CEO of MBtech North America

TROY, Mich., Dec. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In November 2012 Dr. Wolfgang Kneer assumed the position of President and CEO of MBtech North America. The bilingual manager has extensive international experience and has worked for MBtech North America in the past. He built the manufacturing engineering business in the United States and established the branch office in Tuscaloosa Alabama. After his most recent position as a plant manager for a seat supplier, Dr. Wolfgang Kneer says of his new challenge: "I feel very honored to be able to come back and manage MBtech North America. I look forward to working with the team here in the U.S. as well as the individual business units in Europe." 

Together with AKKA Technologies, MBtech is the largest engineering and consulting service provider in the European automotive and aerospace industry. Dr. Wolfgang Kneer would build on the successes in the European market. "I see many opportunities in the aerospace and automotive industries, which we will use through increased customer focus, focus on teamwork and entrepreneurship. We will also strengthen regional activities of sales, management and employee development," said Dr. Wolfgang Kneer.

Currently MBtech operates in the U.S. from three locations - Michigan, Alabama and Texas. In addition, MBtech already works on several client projects in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Oregon and California. The future goal is to build a strong presence closer to the customer. MBtech's strength in Electric/Electronics, Process Engineering & Planning, Program and Project Management will be continued. Additional services will lead into MBtech North America becoming a preferred service and solution provider to the aerospace and automotive industry.

About Dr. Wolfgang Kneer

After graduating as an engineer in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering, he expanded his interdisciplinary education with a PhD in economics. Dr. Kneer started his career in 1998 at the Daimler Group.  Throughout his career he has led production, planning and project teams through several new car launches, Kaizen projects, the introduction of new IT systems and methods, and factory design projects.
