Women Impacting Public Policy Names D.C. Nonprofit Veteran As Executive Director
Kristie Arslan comes to WIPP after top posts at the National Association for the Self-Employed
WASHINGTON, Feb. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) is excited to announce that Kristie Arslan has been named Executive Director. Ms. Arslan will lead the organization in its efforts to advocate for women and minority business owners on economic policy and current legislative initiatives that impact business health and growth.
Arslan is a highly regarded senior association executive who has provided leadership and advocacy for small business organizations for more than 12 years, with extensive experience in developing and implementing strategies to lead organizations through growth and transition.

WIPP has launched several new programs recently, including its new Federal Contracting Certificate Program providing women entrepreneurs with credentials, recognition and tools to successfully compete. Arslan is the first Executive Director to lead the organization and will work out of WIPP's D.C. headquarters.
Before joining WIPP, Arslan served as the President and CEO of the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) where she successfully rose through the ranks to lead the organization. During her tenure, Arslan launched the association's successful Growth Grant program and Women Entrepreneurship Initiative, and founded the NASE Member Council.
Arslan is widely known as a small business expert with extensive public policy experience. Often quoted and published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Politico, Roll Call, The Hill and CQ Weekly while having appeared on MSNBC, FOX, CNBC and C-SPAN.
Prior to her role at NASE, Arslan served as government relations manager at the National Small Business Association where she handled an array of public policy issues and worked at the National Association of Home Builders on the association's political action committee, BUILD-PAC.
Arslan is a graduate of Lehigh University (BA) and George Mason University (MPA). She lives in Arlington, VA.
