"Connecting Our Talents: Women in STEM" is scheduled for Oct. 30 at the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion
ALLENTOWN, Pa., Oct. 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Women in Science Demonstrating Outstanding Merits (WISDOM) announces its second annual student networking event "Connecting Our Talents: Women in STEM." Scheduled for Oct. 30 at the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion, the Lehigh Valley-based nonprofit's event gives college students the opportunity to present a STEM passion project, along with networking opportunities with local industry leaders and other university students.
"This unique event is all about uplifting and supporting women in STEM," said Dr. Dirk Frese, Executive Director of WISDOM. "We're here to facilitate resources, potential job opportunities, and support these young women as they get ready to transition from academia into industry."
Aligning with WISDOM's mission, this event highlights different career opportunities available to women in STEM. According to 2023 data from the U.S. Department of Labor, women comprise just 26% of the STEM workforce, so events like this are crucial for informing young women about possible career paths and opportunities outside of academia.
"Connecting Our Talents: Women in STEM" will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and attendees can expect to view several student presentations, network, and participate in the keynote presentation from Dr. Petra Frese, engineer, scientist, and executive coach.
Registration for "Connecting Our Talents: Women in STEM" closes on Oct. 10. To register, or for more information, visit: https://www.womenin.science/women-in-stem/.
This event is made possible with the financial support of WISDOM's sponsors, including WISDOM founder, JULABO USA; WISDOM Ambassadors Amuneal Manufacturing Corp., Brentwood Industries, Inc., and iTEC; WISDOM Champions Gross McGinley, LLP and Heidelberg Materials North America; and WISDOM In-Kind Advocate RobotLAB.
