ROSEMONT, Ill., May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, May 16, 2015, the Pyrex® brand, a leader in the glass bakeware industry, continued its 100-year anniversary celebration in its hometown of Charleroi, Pa., which was kicked off by renaming the town to Pyrex, Pennsylvania. Charleroi has been producing Pyrex products for over half a century. The brand's renaming initiative officially kicks off a mobile tour honoring Pyrex products in America that will travel across the country this summer celebrating 100 years.
As part of the renaming ceremony, World Kitchen and the Pyrex brand team hosted a celebration for the dedicated employees, retirees and residents who helped shape the brand into what it is today. Charleroi residents were treated to a pancake breakfast, live entertainment, interactive photo booth, product giveaways and the World's Largest Measuring Cup.
Carl Warschausky, president and chief executive officer of World Kitchen LLC, was in attendance to unveil the new town name and serve pancakes to residents. Pyrex, PA., marks the second major event celebrating the Pyrex brand. At the International Home + Housewares Show on March 8, Pyrex debuted the World's Largest Measuring Cup. The record setting cup will make its way from Charleroi to the following notable events:

- CMA Music Festival – Nashville, TN 6/11-14
- Corning Museum of Glass – Corning, NY 6/20
- Macy's Herald Square – New York City, NY 6/24
- Wawa Welcome America Festival – Philadelphia, PA 7/4
