WOW! Network Investment in Newnan, Georgia, Delivers Major Gains in Capacity, Reliability and Speeds

Upgrades nearly double downstream speeds, while upstream speeds increase tenfold

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- WideOpenWest, Inc. (WOW!), a leading provider of fiber-broadband internet services and advanced connectivity solutions, today announced the completion of the first phase of a major broadband network upgrade in its Newnan, Georgia service area.

The upgrade delivers the largest capacity increase for WOW! internet customers in more than a decade. This month, WOW! increased download speeds from 1.2 Gbps to 2.0 Gbps, and upstream speeds from 50 Mbps to 500 Mbps. This tenfold gain translates into clear, everyday benefits for customers, including low lag for fast-action gaming, smooth 4K streaming and upstream capacity for file sharing and video conferencing.

Additional upgrades are planned over the next year to further boost capacity and to prepare for the future launch of DOCSIS 4.0. By next summer, WOW! will have invested over $5 million in its network in the region, which reaches more than 40,000 homes and businesses.

With the recently completed upgrade, WOW! has moved key network functions and components from its central hub to nodes that are located much closer to the customer. This has improved signal quality and performance.

At the same time, WOW! has freed up network capacity by retiring its legacy video service in Newnan and transitioning customers to YouTube TV. The newly available spectrum has been engineered to improve upstream speeds.
