Xarelto News Update: New Court Documents Issued in Two Courts, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

In the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana, where the federal multidistrict litigation (MDL) for Xarelto is underway, a court order dated March 24^th shows that plaintiffs will now be able to file their cases directly in the proceeding (In Re: Xarelto Products Liability Litigation, No. 2592). Additionally, court documents from March 23^rd in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas show that a Master Long Form Complaint was approved, and plaintiffs with claims who want to file suit in that state will be able to use that approved Master Long Form Complaint in Pennsylvania's (PA) mass tort proceeding for Xarelto (In Re: Xarelto Litigation, Case ID 150102349).

According to court documents, there are currently more than 300 filed suits regarding Xarelto just in the federal litigation in Louisiana, with about 160 known cases as of now with similar claims pending in Pennsylvania's mass tort proceeding. The lawsuits involved include claims of serious uncontrollable bleeding events, resulting in either long hospital stays or even deaths as a result of using the blood thinner, Xarelto.
