Xinhua Silk Road: AI-powered one-person firms explore tourism opportunities in E China's Zhejiang

BEIJING, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A startup hub at Yandangshan in east China's Zhejiang Province has attracted more than 10 AI-powered one-person companies looking to move in since it began trial operations in early June this year. The hub was transformed from a tourist center.

The hub brings together people with backgrounds including tour guiding, drone operation and video production. AI tools allow individual entrepreneurs to handle more content creation work, reducing the need for a larger production team, according to a person in charge of the hub.

The model is also being used to promote lesser-known attractions. Shuangzhu Valley in Yandangshan became a popular summer destination after a one-person company based at the hub promoted it on social media.

Under the hub's support policy, entrepreneurs can access free workspaces and computing subsidies, and receive assistance with policy applications. An AI toolkit customized for the scenic area can support the full content creation process and increase efficiency by 70 percent.

The hub has also developed a mini-program linking entrepreneurs with tourism services across Yandangshan's eight scenic areas. Its operators plan to build a broader platform where entrepreneurs can find resources and materials, secure orders and generate income.
