Your Vote Rocks! Select the Winner of the Bank of the West Celebrates America Opening Band Contest
OMAHA, Neb., June 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cast your vote! Music fans across the country will help determine the winner of the 2015 Bank of the West Celebrates America Opening Band Contest. The winning band will experience the chance of a lifetime opening the 25th anniversary of Bank of the West Celebrates America, an outdoor free concert and fireworks show that attracts more than 60,000 people to Omaha's Memorial Park. This year's event features Joan Jett & the Blackhearts with special guest Eddie Money. Jett was inducted this year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with other notable inductees including Green Day, Lou Reed, Ringo Starr and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
A wide array of musical talent entered the contest from across the country. This year's contest garnered a record number of entries with more than 200 submissions received during the two-week open call. The five bands that have advanced to the final round are:
- Bonne Finken + The Collective – Des Moines, Iowa
- Kelly's Lot – Los Angeles
- Lost in Atlantis – Los Angeles
- Mad Libby – Kansas City, Mo.
- Olio – Los Angeles
The public is invited to watch the videos of the five finalists and cast their votes on CelebratesAmerica.com (click on the "band contest" tab). Online public voting is open from June 8 through June 14, 2015. Fans are allowed one vote per day, every day, during the voting period. Bank of the West will announce the winning band around June 15.

This is the fifth year of the Bank of the West Celebrates America Opening Band Contest. A panel of judges, which included talent representatives from Creative Artists Agency, Warner Music Group and Romeo Entertainment Group, and Bank of the West representatives, narrowed the band entries to the five finalists.
Bank of the West Celebrates America, which will be held June 26, is a tradition that has rocked Omaha for 25 years. The annual concert and fireworks finale kicks off the area's Fourth of July festivities.
