Zachys Announces Fundraising Effort for Northern California Wildfire Relief

SCARSDALE, N.Y., Oct. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- New York-based Zachys announced a fundraising effort to support California wildfire relief. Called "The California Strong Initiative," the company plans to equally distribute proceeds amongst the following charities' relief and resilience funds: Napa Valley Community Foundation, Community Foundation of Sonoma County and The Community Foundation of Mendocino County.

Zachys is raising money through the following efforts:

  • Hosting a week-long California wine campaign where a portion of proceeds from California wine sales (in-store and online) will be donated to the noted charities. Zachys has set a goal to raise $25,000 in California wine sales by Wednesday, October 25.
  • At Zachys D.C.'s "Extravaganza," a consumer wine tasting featuring over 100 premium wines from around the world, the company will be donating a portion of all wine sales from the evening. The event will be held Tuesday, October 24 at D.C.'s Longview Gallery.
  • At Zachys D.C.'s Extravaganza, Zachys will holding a silent auction where 100 percent of proceeds from the 16-lot auction will be donated to the charities. Absentee bidding ends Tuesday, October 24 at 11:59pm ET.
  • At Zachys' "The Capital Collection" Auction on October 27 and 28 at Charlie Palmer Steak D.C., 100 percent of the buyer's premium of all California lots will be donated.

"The Capital Collection" Auction is the first commercial live auction in D.C. in the last 30 years.  The two-day, single-owner sale features 1842 lots and comes from an anonymous D.C. collector.
