Zacks Index Services Launches The 1st Factor-Based Junior Gold Miners Index
Licensed To Sprott Asset Management As The Basis For the Sprott Junior Gold Miners ETF
CHICAGO, March 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Zacks Index Services (ZIS) is pleased to announce the launch of the Sprott Zacks Junior Gold Miners Index; the first factor-based junior gold miners index. The Index will serve as the basis for the Sprott Junior Gold Miners ETF trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the symbol SGDJ. The new Index follows the launch of the Sprott Zacks Gold Miners Index on May 19, 2014, licensed to Sprott and trading under the symbol SGDM on the NYSE.
The Junior Gold Miners Index, which focuses on revenue growth and price momentum factors in the selection process, includes early stage mining companies that are in the exploration phase only or hold properties that may produce gold or silver. ZIS in partnership with Sprott Asset Management created the rules-driven strategy that seeks to outperform a purely passive representation of the smaller market capitalized companies engaged in the gold and silver mining industry.
