ZAP Celebrates 25th Anniversary and Launches Redesigned Website

Company reflects on its evolution from a three-person Denver office to a multidisciplinary engineering and EPC organization

LAKEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ZAP Engineering & Construction Services, Inc. (ZAP) is marking its 25th anniversary and the launch of a redesigned website that reflects the company's growth from a three-person engineering office into a multidisciplinary engineering and EPC organization serving industrial clients across North America.

Steve Tzap founded ZAP on July 1, 2001, after identifying a need for an engineering firm with strong process and controls expertise. The company began in Denver during a downturn in the midstream market, initially supporting process design, controls and compressor station projects. As clients asked ZAP to take on broader scopes, the company added engineering disciplines and expanded its project delivery capabilities.

A major turning point came in 2010, when a client asked ZAP to determine whether two compressor stations could be engineered and built more cost-effectively. ZAP completed the front-end design and developed a total installed-cost estimate, then accepted responsibility for full engineering, procurement and construction delivery. Both projects were completed on time and on budget, establishing an EPC capability that would become central to the company's growth.

Today, ZAP has more than 200 employees and offices in the Denver area, Houston, Texas, and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Its services span engineering, procurement, project controls, construction, field services, commissioning and startup. The company has also expanded beyond its upstream and midstream roots into power generation, mining and minerals, advanced materials, manufacturing and other industrial markets.

Redesigned Website Reflects ZAP's Growth

The anniversary coincides with the launch of ZAP's redesigned website at zapecs.com. The new site provides a more complete view of ZAP's services, markets, project experience, leadership and career opportunities.
