FREMONT, Calif., March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ZNYX® Networks, an innovator of high-density solution-enabled platforms for carrier-grade and mission critical environments, announced today that the company has been awarded patents throughout the world for its integrated chassis switch and management module design in the Ultra5™ ZX2000 blade server platform. To date, patents have been granted in the U.S., Canada, Europe, China, India, Korea and Japan, and give ZNYX ownership of the platform's unique integrated chassis design. The patent is still pending for this design breakthrough in other countries.
The ZX2000 platform condenses the dual 10G/40G switch and shelf managers in a single server envelope traditionally reserved for the shelf manager alone. This opens six payload slots for usage, two more than in competing platforms, offering 50% more payload slots in a 5U chassis. The new patent retains full legal control of this technological innovation to ZNYX.
"ZNYX was focused on designing an ATCA switch with greater computing power density and better energy efficiency in a compact size to support mission critical applications," said Connie Austin, president and CEO, ZNYX Networks. "These patents recognize the exceptional engineering of the Ultra5 ZX2000 platform. We are very proud that our invention is being recognized as truly innovative by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and internationally."
About the Ultra5 ZX2000 Platform
The Ultra5 ZX2000 is a mid‐size platform that offers an unprecedented level of integration of all infrastructure components of an AdvancedTCA® (ATCA) chassis. With six payload slots compatible with 40G, 10G or 1G ATCA 3.1 blades, the ZX2000 enables the highest revenue-generating blade capacity of any 5U chassis available. The ZX2000 "right-sizes" the switch capabilities for the mid-size chassis, which cuts costs and streamlines the switching process, and improves Ethernet ingress capacity to the chassis.
