FLORHAM PARK, N.J. and WASHINGTON, Dec. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Zoetis and American Humane Association today announced that the company will sponsor the Law Enforcement Dog category for the 2016 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards. The sponsorship is in honor of Diesel, the police dog killed in service during the recent terrorist attacks in France. Diesel's heroism and service to his country is representative of all of the valiant canines who serve and have given their lives protecting communities around the world.

Zoetis will continue to be the exclusive sponsor of the American Humane Association Hero Veterinarian and Hero Veterinary Technician Awards™, and the company's RIMADYL K-9 Courage Program™ will again sponsor the Military Dog category at the Hero Dog Awards.
The RIMADYL K-9 Courage Program provides healthcare assistance to retired police and military dogs in the form of a $300 debit card to be used for any service offered by the dog's veterinarian. Currently, the program is providing this benefit to 500 dogs; in honor of Diesel, and all police dogs, Zoetis is making an additional financial contribution that will enable the program to support up to an additional 50 dogs.

Launched in January 2015, the RIMADYL K-9 Courage Program provides veterinary medical support for retired military and police dogs.
