Zoic Studios Plunges into McDonald's "Splash" Commercial with Juuso Syrija

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Zoic Studios, an award-winning visual effects company headquartered in Culver City, CA, has teamed up with Davis Elen Advertising and Contrast Eye in their first collaborative effort to create McDonald's new "Splash" commercial which gives a fresh take on the new lineup of signature dipping sauces.  Zoic Studios provided complete 360 post-production on the commercial working closely with renowned Finnish director Juuso Syrija.  The new commercial debuted on August 5th and aired throughout Southern California.

The effort was Zoic Studios' first with Syrija, an award-winning director from Helsinki and one of Finland's rising industry stars.  Syrija has over 350 commercials and music videos under his belt, working with international brands such as Samsung, Nokia, Snickers, Citibank, Adidas and many others. Zoic is known for establishing close relationships with directors, and pairing with Contrast Eye will likely open doors to further visual innovation in advertising, new associations with the Finnish film community, as well the opportunity to stretch the boundaries of what can be done in a 15 or 30 second spot.

The Zoic Studios team streamlined the post-production process and created a seamless, "all in-house" solution for the McDonald's "Splash" commercial -- from on set supervision straight through editorial and finishing -- resulting in a spot that offers a twist on McDonald's favorite Chicken McNuggets.  The delicious nuggets emerge in a reverse splash out of the chain's selection of six signature dipping sauces.  Shot as separate elements on the set, the sauces were enhanced and combined by Zoic Studios' Senior Flame Artist Steve Meyer.
