1,000 Dreams Fund along with Partners Riot Games and AWS Announce the Launch of Broadcast Cadetship, Benefiting Students and Early-Career Job Seekers in Esports

Ahead of the three-month paid Cadetship at Riot Games' Remote Broadcast Center in Seattle, Wa. in 2026, complimentary Masterclasses will be available to interested applicants seeking to develop their esports skills

WASHINGTON, Oct. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In partnership with Riot Games and AWS, 1,000 Dreams Fund (1DF), a nonprofit which empowers students in need with scholarships, mentorship and other critical resources to help them reach their dream careers, today announces the return of the 1,000 Dreams Broadcast Cadetship to help accelerate the careers of aspiring individuals in the esports broadcasting and production industry. The 2026 Cadetship has two available spots and will begin taking applications on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025.

There is a growing need for this type of programming support since the esports industry is a relatively new one. The Cadetship is aimed at creating more professionals with the knowledge and technical skills to help develop a talent pipeline for the esports and gaming industry.

Alongside 1DF, the program partners include Riot Games—a leading video game developer, publisher, and esports tournament organizer—and their global partner, AWS. Together, they are committed to expanding access and creating pathways for individuals aspiring toward a career in esports broadcasting and production. The collaborative goal is focused on reaching students and early-career job seekers who may not otherwise have access to opportunities that can accelerate their success in the industry.

The program kicks off on October 27th @ 11AM PST with a virtual information session launch event. Following the launch information session, the partners will host a series of three Masterclasses to help train people interested in esports careers as well as those who are interested in applying for one of two paid, three-month training, cadetship positions at the RBC in Seattle, Wa. in 2026.

The partners are looking for applicants in college or university interested in esports production, or those with previous esports production experience.  Applicants with a background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) are also encouraged to apply given that the cadetship will offer the selected candidates the opportunity to hone their skills in the Technical Operations Center at the RBC.

The two Cadets will receive:

• A paid 3 month-long internship or cadetship opportunity at the Remote Broadcast Center in Seattle, Wa.;
• Funding for the accommodation for the duration of their cadetship;
• Travel stipend for travel to/from Seattle for the cadetship;
• Additional mentorship opportunities will be provided by our partners onsite;
• $500 grant to put towards a career coach who specializes in the gaming and esports industry who will provide direct career consultation and guidance to Cadets;
• Two 60-minute mentor sessions (beginning and end of internship program).

They will also have access to additional pop-up experiences and learning opportunities with our partners in 2026, as well as the opportunity to gain hands-on training by working alongside the RBC team during the course of the Cadetship.

Key Cadetship Application Dates:

• Information Session: Interested applicants can first sign up for the Cadetship Information Session. Three Masterclasses will be offered, following the Information Session with dates to be announced.
• Application Opens: Oct. 13, 2025 at noon (12:00) PST.
• Application Deadline: Nov. 14, 2025 at midnight (00:00) PST.
• The two Cadets will be selected and announced by January 2026. Winners will be announced on the 1,000 Dreams Fund Blog and social media accounts (i.e.,Facebook,X andInstagram).
