12-Year-Old Slime Glue Entrepreneur Attempts Guinness World Records™ Title By Making Over 6 Tons Of Slime
Play Fair New York Sets the Stage for Madison Greenspan's November 4th Record-Breaking Attempt
FAIRFIELD, Conn., Oct. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Life just got a little more exciting for 12-year-old Madison Greenspan. Hot off the heels of launching her own successful slime glue company called Maddie Rae's Slime Glue, Madison received the green light from GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS to move forward with her dream to attempt to break the record for the world's largest slime. She is proud to announce that she and her team will attempt to make over 6 tons of slime – that's over 12,000 pounds!
The attempt will take place at 11am on November 4th at consumer toy show Play Fair New York (BOOTH #152), held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Play Fair will entertain more than 30,000 kids and parents over the Nov. 4-5th weekend, making it the perfect venue for the largest slime attempt. The event offers hands-on exhibits, awe-inspiring displays, dozens of toy and entertainment brands, and never-before-seen exclusives that attendees can feel, touch, and take home.
Madison made a name for herself in the slime world due to her brilliant business idea that has proven to be wildly successful. Swept up in the DIY slime craze herself, she became increasingly frustrated at the glue shortage that we experienced last Winter. She pleaded with her dad to help her make her own brand of slime glue. As the owner of a consumer products company, Madison's father, Howard Greenspan knew he could turn around the product quickly and help Madison fulfill her dream, offering her a real education in business. After lots of hard work, Maddie Rae's Slime Glue was born! Today, many thousands of gallons of glue have been sold, and she has expanded the line to include slime coloring and slime jars.
Madison is bringing that same winning attitude and dedication as she shoots for the stars with this hefty world record goal. While no one has ever made slime close to this magnitude, Guinness World Records™ has identified the weight of 5,000 kilograms or 11,024 pounds to be crowned World Record Holder.
"Breaking the record for the world's largest slime would be so awesome," said Maddie, adding, "we have been making really big batches of slime every week and it's been so much fun! The best part is that after the event is over, I'm going to sell containers of the slime on my website and give the money to Hand in Hand to help the hurricane victims. I'm so happy that I can have fun and help people at the same time."
Upon the completion of the attempt, 3,000 slime jars will be filled with the record-breaking slime and given to Play Fair attendees as a souvenir, while the other 2,000 will be sold online with all proceeds going to Hand in Hand, a hurricane relief charity that was selected by Madison.
Maddie and her team of over 50 people, have adopted a "WE CAN DO IT" mantra and have been working feverishly testing viable slime vessels, slime recipes, and weighing options. A tremendous amount of work will continue over the next few weeks to ensure the attempt will be successful.

In addition to Madison's record breaking slime attempt on November 4th, she will be participating at a special Meet & Greet at her Maddie Rae's Slime Glue booth (BOOTH #311, 3-7pm) where she will be giving slime making demonstrations, signing autographs, taking pictures and helping kids make their own take-home slime from the booth.
The attempt is especially timely. Thanks to social media and YouTube, children and teens across the nation are posting pictures and videos of their hottest DIY slime inventions, further fueling the trend.
