Nation's newest immersion learning destination features top faculty in fields of Mindfulness, Health and Wellness, Leadership, Professional Development, Creativity, and more.
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- 1440 Multiversity, a new kind of learning destination opening in May 2017, is now open for registration. Weekend and 5-day immersion programs are offered at the state-of-the-art 75-acre campus, nestled in the redwoods of Scotts Valley, California, between Santa Cruz and San Jose.
Named for the number of minutes in a day, 1440 Multiversity champions the proposition that each moment is an opportunity to live fully. Beyond the intellectual training of traditional education systems, the Multiversity supports integration of the emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions of our lives to assist in better connecting us to ourselves and others. Immersion programs from world-renowned faculty are offered on a diverse range of topics – program examples include The Neuroscience of Personal Transformation, Wired for Relationships, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, the Art and Science of Meditation, Authentic Leadership, and more.
"In our 24/7 always-on culture, paying attention to what's really important is easier said than done," said Scott Kriens, cofounder of 1440 Multiversity and chairman and former CEO of Juniper Networks. "1440 is a place to learn and connect to life on your own terms, because life isn't just what happens to us, it's about what we make happen."
Accommodations on campus include all-natural farm-to-table cuisine, daily offerings in meditation, yoga, fitness, and other classes and events before and after course sessions, as well as four miles of forest hiking trails. The campus will also feature a brand-new healing arts center with bodywork modalities designed for relaxation and whole-body integration, steam rooms, and an outdoor infinity edge whirlpool with an expansive view of the redwoods.
The campus was designed to facilitate both instructional and experiential learning and will provide skills that are both practical and immediately usable in both personal and professional settings. The immersive nature of 1440 Multiversity ensures guests have time for relaxation, contemplation, and reflection in the serene and natural campus environment, enabling optimal integration of the lessons shared in the programming.
"We all have a need for more connected relationships in our lives, and this place has been built with love and intention to support the growth that will lead us into deeper, more meaningful life journeys," said Joanie Kriens, cofounder of 1440 Multiversity.
Registration is now open for courses through 2017 and can be booked online at www.1440.org. Registrants can choose from a variety of housing options, from Asian-inspired pods to executive suites.
