IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazda North American Operations today announces packaging updates for the 2026 Mazda CX-50, which is assembled in America at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) plant in Huntsville, Alabama. Purpose-built for active lifestyles, the CX-50 blends rugged capability with Mazda's signature refined driving experience, offering a versatile, engaging crossover SUV with robust safety, technology, and convenience features.

CX-50 2.5 S MODELS
CX-50 2.5 S models are powered by a Skyactiv-G 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque on regular 87-octane fuel. This engine is paired with a Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. All CX-50 2.5 S models come standard with i-Activ AWD and Mazda Intelligent Drive Select, or Mi-Drive, with Sport and Off-Road modes.

CX-50 2.5 S SELECT
The CX-50 2.5 S Select serves as the entry point to the naturally aspirated lineup, offering a wide array of standard safety, convenience, and technology amenities. Standard features include a Alexa Built-in, wireless phone charger, 10.25-inch full-color center display with HD Radio and four USB-C ports, 8-speaker audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with touch functionality, Mazda Connect Infotainment system, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry with push-button start, a 7-inch TFT LCD instrument panel display, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear passenger vents, leather-wrapped shifter and steering wheel, and half leatherette seats, among many other standard features.

Exterior highlights include 17-inch Black Metallic alloy wheels, tinted privacy glass, LED headlights, rear roof spoiler, roof rails, black power side-mirrors with LED turn signal indicators, dual exhaust outlets, High Beam Control, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

Standard i-Activsense safety features include Smart Brake Support with pedestrian detection, Blind Spot Monitoring, Driver Attention Alert, Lane Departure Warning System, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Seat Alert, and Vehicle Exit Warning.

CX-50 2.5 S PREFERRED
The CX-50 2.5 S Preferred adds a power sliding panoramic moonroof and front and rear parking sensors for 2026. Convenience features in this trim include power rear liftgate, heated side-mirrors, eight-way power adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support, and heated front seats. Also included in this trim is the choice of the all-new White Interior Option that features white half leatherette seats.

CX-50 2.5 S MERIDIAN EDITION
A new addition for 2026, CX-50 2.5 S Meridian Edition carries the adventurous spirit this name has previously offered and brings to the naturally aspirated powertrain. Most notable are the 18-inch allow wheels featuring all-terrain tires, black roof rails, and are exclusively offered with black half leatherette seats and available in Jet Black Mica, Polymetal Gray, or Zircon Sand exterior paints.

CX-50 2.5 S Meridian Edition will feature gloss black Mazda emblems and gloss black badges for CX-50, AWD, and Skyactiv-G. Other convenience and safety features match the offerings in the 2.5 S Preferred.

CX-50 2.5 S PREMIUM
For 2026, CX-50 2.5 S Premium enhances its value by adding black leather seats with 20-inch Black Metallic, machine-finish alloy wheels with all-season tires or the choice of the new White Interior Option with white leather seats, 20-inch Silver alloy wheels with all-season tires, and silver roof rails. Other new features include ventilated front seats, power six-way passenger seat, two-position seat memory, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink.

This trim continues to offer Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Traffic Sign Recognition, Bose 12-speaker premium audio system, a roof-mounted shark fin antenna, windshield wiper de-icer, and SiriusXM satellite radio with complementary three-month trial subscription.

CX-50 HYBRID MODELS
The CX-50 Hybrid is comprised of a 2.5L naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, hybrid EV battery, three electric motors, Electronically-controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT), standard Electric AWD (eAWD), and Mi-Drive modes Power and Trail. This setup is good for 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque on regular 87-octane fuel. CX-50 Hybrid has an EPA estimated 38 MPG combined and 551-mile total driving range.

CX-50 HYBRID PREFERRED
The CX-50 Hybrid Preferred is similarly equipped to the 2.5 S Preferred, with unique 17-inch black alloy wheels, 10.25-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eight-speaker audio system, four USB-C ports, wireless phone charging, Alexa Built-in, power rear liftgate, heated front seats, power sliding panoramic sunroof, and front and rear parking sensors.

CX-50 HYBRID PREMIUM
Building on Preferred, the Hybrid Premium adds black roof rails and black exhaust pipes. Inside, features include leather seating available in black or a red interior exclusive to Hybrid models, ventilated front seats, Bose 12-speaker premium audio, SiriusXM satellite radio with complementary three-month trial subscription, power six-way passenger seat, two-position seat memory, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

CX-50 HYBRID PREMIUM PLUS
The CX-50 Hybrid Premium Plus now features heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, Signature LED headlights with auto-leveling and taillights, and Adaptive Front-lighting System. Other features include unique 19-inch split black and machine-polished alloy wheels, silver roof rails and exhaust pipes, automatic power-folding side-mirrors with memory, and full-color Active Driving Display projected onto the windshield.

CX-50 2.5 TURBO MODELS 
The CX-50 2.5 Turbo is powered by a Skyactiv-G 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 256 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque on premium 93-octane fuel or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque on regular 87-octane fuel. The engine pairs with a Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and has standard i-Activ AWD.

With Mi-Drive Sport and Off-Road modes standard, towing capabilities are expanded on Turbo models with up to 3,500-pound towing capacity. Towing mode is added when properly equipped with Mazda genuine towing accessories.

CX-50 2.5 TURBO
The 2026 CX-50 2.5 Turbo builds on the conveniences from 2.5 S Premium, but with larger dual exhaust pipes for the turbocharged powertrain and many added features. This trim features the new gloss black Mazda emblem and badges and black roof rails but also gives customers the ability to choose the White Interior Option that includes white leather seats, 20-inch Silver, machine-finished alloy wheels, silver roof rails, and chrome emblem and badges.

This trim also includes paddle shifters, Signature LED headlights with auto-leveling and taillights, and Adaptive Front-lighting System, automatic power-folding side-mirrors with memory, and full-color Active Driving Display projected onto the windshield.

CX-50 2.5 TURBO MERIDIAN EDITION
The 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition emphasizes all-terrain performance and style, with 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, side rocker garnish, distinctive hood graphics, and outdoor-specific accessories. This outdoor-focused trim exclusively features the new gloss black Mazda emblem and badges, black roof rails and offered with terracotta leather seats and available in Jet Black Mica, Polymetal Gray, or Zircon Sand exterior paints.

Inside, features include heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, Mazda Online Navigation with OTA updates, and Secondary Collision Reduction.

CX-50 2.5 TURBO PREMIUM PLUS
The 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus includes all previously mentioned conveniences and features, with the exception of those exclusive to the Meridian Edition. This trim features the new gloss black Mazda emblem and badges and black roof rails but also gives customers the ability to choose the White Interior Option that includes white leather seats, 20-inch Silver, machine-finished alloy wheels, silver roof rails, and chrome emblem and badges.

Other features that add value to this trim are the 360° View Monitor with See-Through View, Emergency Lane Keeping, Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Smart Brake Support, Smart Brake Support with Turn-Across Traffic and Front Crossing detection, include frameless, auto-dimming rearview mirrors with HomeLink, and auto-dimming for the driver's side-mirror.
