26th Annual West Virginia Breeders' Classics Breakfast to Host Hall of Fame Event With Jockey Chris McCarron and Redskins Alumni, Including "Sonny and Sam"
Tickets are $15 to Spend Morning with Horse Racing and Football Hall of Famers
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va., Oct. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mid-Atlantic horse racing and football fans have a rare opportunity to share a morning with legends from each sport as the West Virginia Breeders' Classics features National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame jockey Chris McCarron; NFL and College Football Hall of Famer Sam Huff, CEO of the Breeders' Classics; and NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Sonny Jurgensen at its annual breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 20 at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.
Featured guests will be available to mingle with attendees. Tickets are just $15.
The voice of the Redskins Larry Michael and Sports Emmy and Eclipse Award winning sports personality Chris Lincoln will serve as hosts for the breakfast. Members of the Redskins Alumni Association will also attend.
McCarron, winner of 7,141 victories including nine Breeders Cup and six Triple Crown races, joins a list of previous featured invitees including fellow Hall of Famer Carl Nafzger and King Leatherbury, who ranks third on the list of all-time winning trainers with more than 6,300 victories. "I'm very excited to have received an invitation from Carol (Holden) and Sam (Huff) to attend this great event," said McCarron. "Despite the fact I rode at Charles Town only one evening in the mid-seventies, I have fond memories of Charles Town. I won the Mountaineer Handicap for King Leatherbury on a horse named Go Go Roger, which King claimed from Dickie Dutrow. I know this will be a fun event for me and I'm very excited to meet new friends and renew old acquaintances." The Hall of Fame Breakfast will be held in the ballroom at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. Tickets benefit the Charles Town Races Chaplaincy, and can be purchased at the program stand at the race track, or by calling the West Virginia Breeders' Classics office at (304) 725-0709.
