9th Annual Pacific Marine Credit Union Turkey Trot Will Draw 10,000 Participants

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- GOBankingRates client Pacific Marine Credit Union will host its 9th Annual Oceanside Turkey Trot Nov. 27, drawing more than 10,000 participants across 48 states to run, walk and support San Diego causes this Thanksgiving Day. Turkey Trot participants can designate their entry fees toward local schools and nonprofits; the race also supports the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation, a charity that promotes health and physical activity among young people, founded by Kinane Events, the event's organizer. The PMCU Oceanside Turkey Trot has raised more than $160,000 for local charities in the last eight years.

• The 5-Mile and 5K runs will begin at the Civic Center, located at 330 N. Coast Highway.
• The 5-Mile run will kick off at 7 a.m., and the 5K run will follow at 8:20 a.m. A 5K walk will begin at 8:45 a.m.
• All races feature live entertainment along the courses.
