A COLLECTIVE OF BLACK WOMEN LEADERS CELEBRATE AND CONGRATULATE JUDGE KETANJI BROWN JACKSON ON HISTORIC NOMINATION TO THE U.S. SUPREME COURT AND ANNOUNCE EFFORT TO SUPPORT HER

WASHINGTON, Feb. 25, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Today leaders of national Black women's organizations and networks celebrated and congratulated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on her nomination to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.  The historic nomination writes a new chapter in the history of Black women in America and for our democracy.

Recognized as one of the brightest, most principled legal minds in the country, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's deep wisdom and understanding of the constitution, character, integrity, and dedication to rule of law will make her an excellent justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.  Judge Jackson has seen the justice system from all sides, as a public defender, a Federal judge, member of the US Sentencing Commission and has family members who serve in law enforcement. 

The leaders also announced the formation of The Black Women's Leadership Collective (BWLC), a leadership and organizing hub for Black women's organizations, advocates, and supporters. Representing millions of women across America, the BWLC will utilize the power of their collective efforts to support Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's historic nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.  Lifted by the prayers and dreams of the ancestors, BWLC will work throughout the process to engage and mobilize our community, lift up Judge Jackson's powerful story, and ensure her confirmation to the Supreme Court.
