A Year Without Sex. A Novel Without Mercy. A Global Men's Movement Without Borders.

Sex, Celebrity, Addiction and Redemption Collide in SERVICE, a #1 Amazon Bestseller Born from Its Anonymous Author's Year of Sexual Withdrawal

DALLAS, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What happens when a man is consumed by desire?

The answer is SERVICE, a sexually explosive, brutally funny, psychologically fearless novel about a celebrity tennis professional whose insatiable appetites propel him toward catastrophic self-destruction.

A #1 Amazon bestseller rave reviewed by Vanity Fair and The Village Voice, SERVICE is the male equivalent of Fifty Shades of Grey and Eat, Pray, Love. Its improbable literary DNA fuses Carl Jung, Pornhub, the Brothers Grimm, and Bill Wilson with the rawness and precise timing of a standup comedian.

But the story behind the novel may be even more extraordinary than the fiction.

A NOVEL BORN FROM ABSTINENCE

Writing under the pseudonym Justin Bridges, the author composed three pages daily during a year of complete sexual abstinence, a cleansing period that recovering sex & love addicts term "sexual withdrawal."

What began as a means of surviving withdrawal became a literary excavation of masculinity, childhood trauma, sexual obsession, shame, intimacy, and desperate human hunger.

THE SEDUCER & THE CHAMELEON

Meet Josh: a tennis professional, former comedian, and human chameleon navigating the privileged world of celebrity clientele.

Not since Holden Caulfield has a narrator's biting humor, alienation, and vulnerability so boldly invited readers to empathize with a man's self-sabotage. Not since Warren Beatty in Shampoo, or Richard Gere and Jon Bernthal in American Gigolo, has a protagonist so magnetically charmed his way into women's hearts while self-destructing. And not since Bill Wilson has a man's own addiction broken him into a million pieces requiring atomic spiritual reconstruction.

Sex is his life preserver. Love is his oxygen. Both keep him afloat in a bottomless ocean of need and want.

His humor is armor. His seductions are acts of survival. His ability to become whatever others desire is a desperate defense against abandonment.

When Josh's world finally implodes, salvation arrives through Murph, a fellow recovering addict — and the very police officer who once arrested him. What follows is a darkly comic psychological exorcism, dismantling the modern male psyche one delusion at a time.

THE CELEBRITY GUESSING GAME

Adding irresistible intrigue, major characters are fictionalized creations inspired by iconic personalities from the author's former celebrity clientele.

Who's hiding in plain sight? The guessing game offers tantalizing possibilities for celebrity columns and Hollywood insiders. But the novel's ambition transcends tabloid gossip, combining cinematic storytelling with soulful psychological insight, heartbreaking tenderness, and savage humor that spares nobody — especially its own narrator.

THE REAL-LIFE BROTHERHOOD BEHIND THE FICTION

In 2020, when COVID shuttered in-person recovery meetings, Bridges began hosting free online gatherings for men struggling with sex and love addiction.

They mushroomed into five meetings daily, seven days a week, connecting men across continents and time zones. For recovering addicts needing support, it represents the permanent end of isolation.

Picture underground fight clubs — except instead of breaking noses, participants are breaking denial.

A GENERATIONAL NOVEL WITH HOLLYWOOD POTENTIAL

With its graphic sexuality, celebrity intrigue, outrageous comedy, unforgettable characters, and devastating emotional reversals, SERVICE offers compelling possibilities for television or film adaptation.

SERVICE is seductive, hilarious, heartbreaking, and compulsively readable — a novel about addiction that itself becomes a drug you cannot put down.

The book is fiction. The fellowship is real. And the conversation is overdue.
