The employee survey, conducted by an independent company, Workplace Dynamics, was spotlighted in the June 20th edition of the Bay Area News Group, which includes the San Jose Mercury News, Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune and San Mateo County Times. The results of the survey will appear again in the Jobs, Careers & Education section of the Sunday newspapers part of the Bay Area News Group and are online at http://www.mercurynews.com/hotjobs.

The rankings in the Top Work Places are based on survey information collected by Workplace Dynamics, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention. Ten large companies were ranked, 15 midsize companies were ranked, and 35 small companies were ranked after surveys were submitted by employees. Rankings were composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility and values and ethics. Private companies and non-profits as well as publicly held businesses were included in the analysis.
