AUSTIN, Texas, June 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Foundation for Asthma and Allergy Impact and Rescue (AAIR), the nation's leading nonprofit ensuring children are Rescued at School, Healthy at Home, and Connected to Care, will spotlight its nationally recognized Pediatric Asthma and Food Allergy Diagnosis Kits at the 2025 National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Conference in Austin, Texas.
The kits—already distributed to children by school nurses and health professionals across the country—will be featured at an upcoming "Party with a Purpose" event, where hundreds of NASN conference attendees will have the opportunity to assemble 1,250 life-saving tools in a fun, high-energy setting. Together, they'll help advance early identification and support children living with asthma and allergies. Designed to simplify and strengthen the diagnostic journey, each kit includes:
- Visual symptom identification tools
- Common triggers guide
- Step-by-step support for families navigating new diagnoses
- Multilingual, parent-friendly education materials
- Links to local care and school-based programs
- Medical equipment
"These kits are part of a broader effort to make sure every child can breathe," said Chris Martinez, CEO of AAIR. "We're honored to share the resources that are already transforming care in schools and homes across the country—and to connect with even more school nurses who are on the frontlines of child health."
The New Diagnosis Kits are one element of AAIR's comprehensive strategy to reduce asthma and allergy-related school absences, emergency visits, and health disparities and cut health care costs to states in the process. The foundation operates the country's largest stock albuterol initiative and partners with schools nationwide through its acclaimed RESCUE Schools program.
AAIR also led the legislative effort behind two recently passed Texas laws—House Bill 549 and Senate Bill 1619—which expand access to asthma and allergy care in schools and modernize the fast-acting epinephrine laws to include all FDA approved delivery devices so they go beyond auto injectors and encompass nasal spray devices. These landmark laws help ensure that every child in Texas has access to school-based support, medications, and clear guidance following an asthma or allergy diagnosis. The next step will be funding the lifesaving in school interventions.
"We are proud to support AAIR's Party with a Purpose and the launch of these innovative diagnostic kits that empower school nurses and families alike," said Richard Lowenthal, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ARS Pharmaceuticals. "At ARS Pharma, we are committed to expanding access to life-saving treatments and closing critical gaps in school-based care. Programs like this move us closer to a future where every child can feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. We recognize AAIR's relentless advocacy at the state and national levels to ensure children have equitable access to the care and medications they need."
