SEATTLE, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that Aaron Weller has joined the firm as a managing director, specializing in data privacy and protection (DP&P) in the Risk Assurance practice. Based in Seattle, he will work specifically with the DP&P team throughout the Western region to drive new opportunities with existing clients and serve as a key member of the team in developing new and innovative services to bring to market.

Prior to joining PwC, Weller co-founded Concise Consulting where he worked with Fortune 250 and other national organizations to develop a sustainable privacy and security consulting business that achieved profitability within the first year of operation.

PwC's Risk Assurance practice, comprised of 1,900 professionals, provides companies with significant technical expertise as well as deep industry knowledge across all industries. Skilled team members assist companies on developing risk and compliance programs, audits and creating internal controls processes around business performance issues, IT systems as well as strategy and contingency planning.
Weller began his career as a computer risk manager in the financial services practice of Arthur Andersen in London and worked there until some members of that practice joined Deloitte. He moved to Australia in 2004 and joined the team at Ernst & Young as the security and technology services practice manager before departing with three partners to establish Protiviti in Australia. He was an associate director of security in Protiviti's Melbourne practice until he relocated to the U.S. in 2006 as the Pacific Northwest security and privacy practice lead. In this position he was responsible for leading an information security team of approximately 15 full time equivalents and developed significant intellectual property related to information security and privacy consulting.

Weller earned his B.S. in Physics with a minor in Business Management from the University of Manchester in England and his certificate in Information Assurance & Cybersecurity from the University of Washington. He is currently an active member of the Information Systems Security Association, International Association of Privacy Professionals, IAA and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. As a respected authority on IT Risk, Privacy and Security, Aaron has presented at national and international conferences including Oceania CACS, IIA North America Technology Conference, IIA Asia Pacific Conference, and Financial Markets Association National Conference.
