In announcing the award, which is open to sites worldwide, Nielsen Norman called attention to Abt Global Intranet's (AGI) focus on responsive, mobile-first design, noting that Abt "resolved to redesign the intranet to enable global collaboration on projects and proposals, so staff everywhere could access the latest company thinking on breakthrough methods and innovation."
Abt redesigned its Intranet in 2013 to provide a foundation for its 2,700 employees in offices around the world to share information and better collaborate, no matter where they are located or what device they use.
