LANSING, Mich., July 30, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ACA International, the association of credit and collection professionals, is proud to announce Katie Jennings as the first-place recipient of the ACA International Education Foundation's Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship.
Jennings will receive a $5,000 scholarship. She attends Western Michigan University, where she is currently studying bio-medical sciences.
Jennings comes from a family of collectors. Her father, Barry Jennings, works at American Profit Recovery in Rochester, Mich. To be eligible for the Loomer-Morton Scholarship, applicants must be employed at a company affiliated with the collection or a dependent child of an industry employee.
This year's scholarship recipients were selected based on their cumulative grade point average and a 2- to 3-page essay on the topic on the value of consumer credit to our nation's economy. Scholarship recipients must enroll for a minimum of 12 credit hours at an accredited college, university, vocational-technical college or community college within 12 months following receipt of the award.
