ACA International Taps Texans Among New Leadership

MINNEAPOLIS, July 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Capping an historic change to its organizational governance structure, ACA International, the association of credit and collection professionals, has chosen Thomas Stockton of Carrollton, Texas to lead the newly elected 15-member board of directors.  Loraine Lyons of Houston has also been elected to serve on the new board.

After years of analysis, ACA members approved a new governance structure in March 2012. Beyond the 15-member Board of Directors, ACA has created a Council of Delegates representing its diverse membership. The election of the new board by the Council of Delegates at ACA's recent 73rd Annual Convention and Exposition in Hollywood, Fla. was the final step in the transition. "I am both proud and humble to serve ACA members, particularly at such an important time in the association's history," said Stockton, whose term runs until July 2013.

In addition to Stockton and Lyons, the following are newly elected members of the ACA International Board of Directors:

President Stockton is a founder and current chief executive officer of The CMI Group in Carrollton, Texas.  He is an active volunteer leader and a longtime industry champion at ACA International and ACA of Texas, where he previously served as president. Stockton is an armed forces veteran and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy.

Lyons is senior vice president and general counsel of FMA Alliance in Houston.  She is also an active volunteer leader and a longtime industry champion at ACA International and ACA of Texas.
