Accela to Further Modernize Government Technology with Solutions Hosted on Microsoft Azure

SAN RAMON, Calif., Sept. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Accela, a leading provider of cloud-based productivity solutions for government, announced a collaboration with Microsoft that will enhance and further promote Accela's solutions that modernize and improve government service delivery.

Accela's government customers will leverage Accela's industry-focused solutions with Microsoft Azure. Customers will be hosted on Azure for a range of Accela Civic Solutions that include Planning, Building, Business Licensing, Service Request Management, Occupational Licensing, Environmental Health, and more.

"This relationship further expands Accela's commitment to delivering the best possible SaaS solutions to governments around the globe," said Mark Jung, executive chairman of Accela. "Powered by Microsoft Azure, our open and flexible software solutions help forward-thinking customers address specific needs today, while ensuring they are prepared for any emerging or complicated challenges in the future."

Accela's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions are designed to modernize and improve the service delivery of state and local governments. While specific needs may vary across cities, counties, provinces or states, SaaS offerings level the playing field for government agencies big and small, as well as provide radically faster time to deployment and lower total cost of ownership than traditional solutions. They allow agency leaders and employees to focus more on delivering value and satisfaction to their citizens and businesses -- like improved citizen experience, process visibility, speed of service, security, compliance, better SLA's and more -- and less on their IT infrastructure.

"We believe this relationship will expand value to Accela customers by leveraging Accela's deep domain expertise in government technology with our strategic advice and integration of Accela's SaaS solutions with Microsoft Azure," said Kim Nelson, director of SLG Solutions at Microsoft Corp. "We understand the issues governments face, and the strength of Accela's solutions-oriented approach will provide more governments with necessary technology that will further modernize and improve their service delivery."

A variety of cities and states throughout the country have already been using Accela's cloud solution for years, and through the collaboration with Microsoft, customers will now be able to access resources on information technology infrastructure, SaaS and cloud strategy, compliance support and more. Accela's and flexible technology helps governments address specific needs and aspirations immediately, while ensuring they are prepared for any emerging or complicated challenges moving forward.

Today's announcement follows the recent launch of a new line of purpose-built SaaS applications: Accela's Civic Applications suite that provide customers with pre-configured components. In June, Accela launched two applications that help governments better manage the planning and building process for residential and commercial construction and to spur economic growth: the Accela Civic Application for Planning and the Accela Civic Application for Building. In March the company launched the Accela Civic Application for Short-Term Rental Registration, which was one of the first product offerings in the Civic Applications suite. The new out-of-the-box Civic Applications provide governments with quicker implementation, domain best practices and shorter time to value.
