Acorn Paper Products Company Exceeds Goals For 2nd Annual Holiday Challenge To Customers For Canned Food Drive

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Acorn Paper Products Co., one of the largest independent paper and packaging companies in the Western United States, exceeded the goal set this holiday season to help fight hunger in the Los Angeles community.

Acorn Paper Products CEO, David Weissberg, issued a challenge to Acorn Paper Products employees, customers, and the Los Angeles community to donate 400 pounds of canned food to benefit the LA Regional Food Bank.  As an extra incentive, Weissberg offered a lunch catered for up to 40 people to be provided to the companies who filled up the highest number of boxes during the 2016 Acorn Holiday Challenge.

The joint effort was a success! Together, Acorn Paper Products' employees, venders, customers donated a total of 1075 lbs. of food.  Weissberg was thrilled with the success of the campaign: "Last year we raised 676 pounds of canned food during our first Holiday Challenge and I'm excited that we blew this year's goal out of the water!"

This donation of food that will help the Los Angeles Food Bank serve over 320,500 individuals every month by providing 895 meals to hungry children and their families, seniors and individuals in Los Angeles County.  "I am very proud that the Acorn Paper Products family of employees and our customers delivered such great results to benefit the LA Regional Food Bank and is making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in the Los Angeles community," said Weissberg.
