On August 25, 2014, Amazon.com Inc. (Amazon) announced that it has completed an agreement to acquire Twitch Interactive, Inc. (Twitch), a live video platform for gamers. The shareholders of Twitch have agreed to the acquisition, which is expected to close in second half of 2014, subject to customary closing conditions. (Netflix) reported that it has filed a petition at the Federal Communications Commission on August 25, 2014 against the proposed Comcast Corporation (Comcast) and Time Warner Cable, Inc. (TWC) merger. According to the Company, the proposed merger would result in a combined entity that would have incentive and ability to harm Internet companies, such as online video distributors (OVDs), which Comcast and TWC view as competitors.
