SAN DIEGO, June 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Diego Hospitality and Entertainment Coalition (SDH&EC) announced today that SDH&EC is hosting a press conference releasing the much-anticipated economic impact report on San Diego's adult entertainment industry at 1pm on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Montgomery Auditorium at the Four Points by Sheraton located at 8110 Aero Drive, San Diego, CA 92123.
San Diego based Luth Research, a well-respected and leading-edge market research firm, conducted the study to determine the following objectives:
- Examine the economic impact of adult entertainment establishments on San Diego's economy
- Examine crime rates & other police statistics between neighborhoods and adult entertainment establishments
- Profile employees, customers and neighboring businesses regarding perceptions of the adult entertainment establishments
In 1995, Luth Research initially conducted a study for the District Attorney in coordination with the City of San Diego Police Department (SDPD). The City Attorney was concerned with limited law enforcement resources available and desired to understand the issues of greatest concerns to San Diego citizens. The DA's office and SDPD hired Luth Research to obtain data outlining the perceptions, concerns and opinions of citizens of San Diego related to adult entertainment establishments.
Dino Palmiotto, President of SDH&EC, stated "As business owners, we are excited to share the results of Luth's recent study on our industry showing the positive impact to San Diego's economy, over $70 million annually. The results of this report validate again what the San Diego Police Department also found in their study back in 1995."
More information and full details of the Luth Research study will be released at the June 23rd, 2016 press conference in San Diego, CA.
