Advance Digital launches The Tylt - Community platform for social debates
NEW YORK, April 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Advance Digital is proud to announce the soft launch of The Tylt, a mobile-first site where community members can voice their opinion about trending topics of the day. The Tylt is a space where people can watch online debates unfold in real time and participate in the conversation by sharing their opinions.
Every debate on The Tylt has two corresponding hashtags. Anyone can participate in the debate either in social spaces, like Twitter, by using the debate's hashtags or they can Retweet/"Heart" Tweets with those hashtags. All users will be able to voice their opinion by simply voting onsite as well. Every opinion counts, literally, as The Tylt creates a real time data visualization of how each side of the debate is spreading and who its influencers are.
The Tylt is the first product released by Advance Digital's new in-house incubation team The Alpha Group. By leveraging actions people are already familiar with in social spaces, The Tylt will examine how online debates unfold and information spreads online. "We want to quantify debates that happen in the social space and leverage social contributions from influential readers to tell better stories" said Michael Donoghue, Leader of The Alpha Group.
During a topic's 48-hour life-cycle, The Tylt will surface influential voices and summarize the opinions of our community through data visualization. The Tylt is first launching with voting available on Twitter and directly onsite. Facebook and Instagram will be added soon, making The Tylt one of the few consumer friendly sites where you will be able to track a debate across different social networks. Unlike other social sentiment sites The Tylt does not require a user to download an app or register for a new site. The Tylt allows people to meaningfully participate in social space. In this way, The Tylt is following the trend of distributed platform strategies, championed by many publishers, but applying it to a new space of social sentiment and online debates.
