Rashesh Jethi to lead the Amadeus R&D teams as the company steps up emphasis on innovation and support for its travel industry customers in the United States, Canada and Latin America
BOSTON, Nov. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Amadeus, the leading technology provider for the global travel industry, today announced the appointment of Rashesh Jethi to head up its Research & Development (R&D) team for the Americas region.
With matrix responsibility for the R&D teams in both North America and Latin America, Jethi will oversee the creation, development, and delivery of software platforms and products across all of Amadeus' business lines and travel industry customers. Amadeus' R&D teams develop and maintain some of the travel industry's most critical systems in the areas of distribution and airline passenger support systems. They also deliver leading solutions that use data analytics and intelligence, fare search and optimization, hotel, rail, web services and ancillary systems for Amadeus' airline and travel agency customers worldwide.

Jethi joins Amadeus from Cisco Systems where he was the portfolio management and marketing leader for Cisco Services in some of the company's highest growth areas of virtualization, cloud computing, software-defined networking and cybersecurity. Previously as CTO and CIO of Visage Mobile in San Francisco, he was responsible for the technology architecture, engineering development and operations of the company's SaaS platform for mobile virtual operators and service providers. He has also held a number of technology management and consulting roles in the finance and telecom industries (Wells Fargo Bank, Virgin Mobile and NorthPoint Communications) and with several leading airlines and travel agencies, including American Airlines, Lufthansa, Southwest Airlines, Travelocity and American Express.

He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from The University of Alabama, and has completed the Executive Education Program in Marketing from the London Business School. He has served as visiting faculty for technology and operations classes, and holds a patent in the area of web services for multi-tenant mobile platforms.
Jethi will be based out of the Amadeus R&D Center in Boston, reporting to Couturier and Scott Gutz, President and CEO of Amadeus North America.
