Advancium Health Network Strengthens Leadership with Addition of Three New Board Members

NEW YORK, June 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Advancium Health Network ("Advancium"), a public charity dedicated to advancing therapies for rare diseases, today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors. The company welcomes Philip Ross, M.D., Vice Chairman of Investment Banking and Global Chairman, Healthcare at Jefferies, LLC; Howard Furst, M.D., Partner at Deerfield Management; and Michael Hurley, M.D., Principal at Deerfield Management. These additions bring decades of combined expertise in healthcare investment, strategic development, and industry leadership, further strengthening the board's ability to guide Advancium through its next phase of innovation, growth, and impact.

Philip Ross, M.D., is the Vice Chairman of Investment Banking and Global Chairman of Healthcare at Jefferies where he advises healthcare companies across strategic transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and capital raising. With decades of experience in investment banking and a track record of guiding high-growth healthcare organizations, Dr. Ross brings deep financial and strategic expertise to the board.

Howard Furst, M.D., is a Partner on the Therapeutics Team at Deerfield Management, a New York City-based healthcare investment firm. A physician by training, Dr. Furst brings a distinct blend of clinical and business insight to Advancium as a trusted advisor to life sciences companies and health systems.

Michael Hurley, M.D., is a Principal on the Medical Technologies Team at Deerfield Management, as well as a physician by training. He brings experience in healthcare operations, portfolio management, and growth strategy.
