AEG Live Partners With The Bowery Presents, Bolstering Presence Along The East Coast And Increasing Venue Operations In Major Markets
AEG Live Becomes #1 Concert Promoter in NYC and Expands Reach into Boston; Philadelphia; New Orleans; Portland, ME; and Birmingham, AL
LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AEG Live, a wholly owned subsidiary of AEG, and one of the largest live music companies in the world, and The Bowery Presents, the premier concert promotion and venue management company in the Northeast with venues in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Maine and Alabama, along with its principal partners Jim Glancy and John Moore, today jointly announced that AEG Live has acquired a stake in The Bowery Presents.
The partnership expands AEG Live's and The Bowery Presents' presence throughout the East Coast, increasing the number of venues under their purview and becoming the #1 concert promoter in New York City. The deal with The Bowery Presents is a natural bookend to the Goldenvoice brand, the force behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Desert Trip, which AEG Live operates in Southern California.
Glancy and Moore, along with AEG Live's Senior Vice President of the Northeast Region Mark Shulman, will oversee all of The Bowery Presents' operations, including the partnership's newest venue, Brooklyn Steel, located in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, as well as venues from the Gulf Coast to Maine, such as Terminal 5 and Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York City, The Sinclair in Boston and Union Transfer in Philadelphia. The Bowery Presents books, produces and promotes more than 2,500 events annually.
The agreement allows The Bowery Presents to stay true to its entrepreneurial culture and provides the support and investment to continue to drive growth and innovation and expands its venue partnerships.
